Welcome
Welcome to the Original English speaking Honda NTV and Revere Forum. We have been going now for over four years and have more than 600 members from all over. Feel free to come in and look around.
I have just joined - I don't actually own a Revere yet but I am looking for one (see thread in bikes wanted).
Hi Tyke....welcome to the site. Good luck on finding decent one. Theres not much On eBay at the moment, maybe its the wrong time of year and more bikes will come up for sale when the weather is warmer.....

Hi
I have just joined - I don't actually own a Revere yet but I am looking for one (see thread in bikes wanted).
I owned one in the mid nineties for a number of years (last bike I owned) and loved it - V twins and shaft drive for me. It was a 1988 white 600cc model (just wish I'd kept it). Anyway, kids are older and I am going to get back into biking (partly to cut down on time and cost of my commute to work).
NTV600 wanted « Result #3 on Jan 25, 2012, 1:02pm »
Hi
I am looking for a Revere to buy- preferfably an NTV600 rather than 650 (although I will consider both). I am ideally looking for a complete bike but one that needs work - mileage and condition is not an issue within reason.
I am looking on ebay and autotrader already, but if anyone has a Revere for sale or knows of one for sale I woudl appreciate a heads up.

Yes I think so. Really good clean out with carb cleaner (vinegar then baking soda). Blow through everything then careful re-assembly. Attachment to the bike needed particular care to make sure there were no air leaks on the connectors. It runs well now but I haven't yet had it on the road. Don

OK I'll reply to myself in the hope it will help someone else! The tube with the hole in is not mentioned at all in the workshop manual so I presume it is part of the body structure, the one that is blanked off is an extension tube to protect the needle. Don
Re: Intermittent cut out fuel related? « Result #8 on Jan 20, 2012, 2:19am »
Has anyone has a fuel pump that works sometimes ? All seems to point towards the pump, but I did a test and it seemed to meet the spec for delivery. Thinking of trying a pump point repair kit, ahyone had experience of these?
A clogged or dirty air filter may sound a bit obvious, but is worth checking. Also check the in-line fuel filter because members have reported problems with this in the past.....

Hi Rich 521 , Yes I've had the same problem over and over. It can drive you crazy - double checked everything including breather arrangement in cap and carbs - as far as I can see there's a device to stop fuel emptying out if bike inverted in accident. Anyway, poked that through and a stiff wire through the pipe. tried it with pump on, and with pump taken off, and just using gravity feed but a bit iffy like that and only works with plenty fuel. I then found a non- original pipe was obstructed with its own lining - ah ha !, but no, - still problems. Have now scored a s/h pump and fuel line complete, it's behavin and back to its old regular self. Have cleaned the points on the pump. They can suffer from flashover wear/poor contact. You can get a diode to solder in to to suppress the sparks which seems a good idea. I sometimes found it useful to run with the filler key in place (on a string?) to allow riding with cap ajar to test if breather clear. Really an old SU pump like on bmc cars of old is all it needs, but all the replacements seem a bit bulky. At least its easily plug innable and outable and get on and off to test. I suppose you know that it's supplied by a relay that is switched by ignition pulse so is no go when engine not turning. Good luck!
I love my ntv « Result #11 on Jan 18, 2012, 4:37pm »
I've been working in south west france and bought an old school kawa gtr 1000 which was thirsty and comfortable - great on long roads but a bit boring after a while - so I brought my ntv down here and what a difference - more fun on the twisty A roads, 55-60 mpg and back to fun biking - plus I can get a crate of beer, all my laundry and a duck inside my panniers - I'm tall so had the seat raised/padded and fixed some old honda bars which raised my position and hoopla off we go.
They were mentioned in RIDE magazine today as great buy for less than a grand - great bike
Intermittent cut out fuel related? « Result #12 on Jan 18, 2012, 3:08pm »
My second NTV only 44000 miles, hardly run in. The problem, it fades and cuts out sometimes, feels like fuel, loses power and dies. Checks so far, fuel flows freely past the filter, the pumps appears to pump correctly, flow checked, float bowls have been drained, nothing adverse found. Happened again today, tank 2/3 full, stopped after about 1 mile, after about 5 minutes, slowly came back to life, then got me 6 miles to work and back tonight with no issues. Really does feel like fuel, the way it stops. Any suggestions on what to look at next. My last NTV never played up in 100,000 miles. Any halp much appreciated.
