We are all pebble on the shores of life. Lifes troubles will wash over all of us, but once they have gone away, i'll still be here. I'm just another little pebble on the beach, but I'll be a smoother Mother f****r for next time life tries to mess with me..:-)

Hello, my name is Coggy I bought a Deauville as my first big bike after passing DAS, in 2004 I've now done 11000 miles on it Discovered your forum by accident when trying to buy a new battery for my baby-internet battery sites were offering me 9Ah batteries, and the one I took out of the bike was 14Ah Bought one from the Honda garage eventually

Hello, I'm hoonose (said in a "i'm sparticus" type voice), from liverpool, keen to meet up if there is beer involved
I moved from a trusty cx 500 to a brief flirt with a bandit and then got wooed by the practical simplicity of an ntv via a buxom blond named deauville. felt like driving a car too much so went all naked and was revered. just an ntv shafty lover now...
i drink beer, smoke cigarettes and have a bath regular (once a month whether i need it or not...)

Got my bike - LOVE IT, can't wait to get out on it over the weekend and do a bit of bonding. Giving it a good clean tonight and put on some mirrors and change the battery.

Hi everyone looks as though you kept this site a well guarded secret; I've looked for ages for some quality info on my NTV and now it looks as though I've found it - hurrah! I've got two NTVs, one of which I'm riding, the other is in many parts in the loft of my garage awaiting time and the chancellor (aka wife) to release the necessary funds. The one I'm riding is '97 with circa 65k mile experience of the road. I've owned it for 18 months having bought a near write off and restored to good mechanical order and acceptable cosmetic condition (It looks OK, but not "nearly new") This winter I'll be focussing on mechanics for the second bike and cosmetic for them both. I'll be selling one of them in spring in order to make room, time and money to start on the two beemers I started with.
My trials with the NTV have been interesting. I've found it generally straightforward to work on, but curse every time I have to strip 3 zillion things off the bike to get at the bit I want to work on. Recently I've been trying to sort out an overheating/over boiling problem which initially was a crack in the thermostat housing (the plastic part that the pressure cap fits into) - anyone who has replaced this knows what has to come out in order to complete the job.
I've seen a few comments about problems jumping out of gear. I have not yet had chance to follow any threads to conclusion, but expect to do so soon as I occasionally experience this in first.
I'm using it for a 25 mile round trip commute most days but did have my first serious (solo) venture with over 400 miles to Scotland. It beheaved itself perfectly well cruising at unmentionable speeds, returning over 60mpg.
Anyway, that's enough for today; I look forward to reading and posting more and will join the club properly with a photo when I'm able.
