Oops, sorry, just realised I was outbid on that one - it was some other parts that I ended up with!
The reg / rec problem was on my spare bike, also an 89 Revere, which has a 3-pin block (yellow alternator wires) and 4-pin block. Unfortunately I need to use the Revere at the mo as I'm working on the NTV. Once that's back on the road you can borrow the one of the Revere if you still need it, although hopefully you'll be fixed by then.

Just got her back she is pulling well ;D having had the loom from the starter motor replaced with a second hand one from an NTV.
The connections on the loom were different and did need some mods re connectors.
Starts much better and is running well again.
Had a full service at the same time.
Just need to collect a few more bits and bobs over the winter to get ready for that rideout in the spring.
Thanks for all your tips and pointers. Lets hope next time she stops it's a bit easier to find.
The good news is the problems have led me to a fab mechanic.

(Slight Snow/ freezing cold/ heavy rain in London today) but if she's moving again you probably don't care.... ;D See ya at next years ride outs.... ;D Jaz

Cheers Jaz,
Yes it did 'P' down this morning, but God looked favourably on the righteous this afternoon and I was treated to and hours ride in the sunshine on drying roads.
Looking forward to putting faces to names next year.

That sounds like great news, let's hope all is going to be well for Aunty. Looks we got the best of the weather from lunchtime onwards (I've stayed down in Gosport this weekend), took a run over to Portsmouth and HG (see my next post)
Keep Aunty tucked up when you're not out on her, but take every opportunity you can when the weather is nice to take her out for a ride.

Mcf, I tuck Aunty up under her cover every night. I now plan to ride her everyday. Very short run to work but much more fun on the motorbike. If we get some luchtime sun I hope to be able to get out then again soon.
She went well today which looks good the throttle is now smooth as silk and she ticks over happily at 1200 revs which she never has in the last 12 months.
