Hi,
Ive had my NTV for 5 years and its starting to get a bit tired. It still handles like a dream but jumps in and out of first, got holes in the back plastics (from the previous owner) and the electrical wiring has a tendency to break or need a wiggle to get the lights working. I also own a 2007 790cc Bonneville which also has a tendency to stop working in the rain (to be honest the build quality is shocking compared to the NTV).
I love both bikes but as I commute daily I need a bike thats reliable, I don't know whether I should restore the NTV and keep the Bonneville for posing or let my wife have the NTV (she's just past her test and uses it more than me now) and trade in my Bonneville for a new bike that I can rely on all year round. Any ideas on the practicality of a rebuild??

Hi wyn, I would restore the NTV because you won't get a better bike. The frame, engine and cardan are unbreakable. Do the maintenance an the NTV won't rat you . VinoS www.ntv-forum.de

Thanks VinoS, I'm definitely tempted especially with the price of new bikes, but where do I start. Is it best to strip the bike myself doing what I can and send out to specialists for powder coating and engine overhaul etc. or should I just hand the hole thing over to a restorer?? What sort of costs should I be expecting to spend on restoring the bike? Wyn
