With regards to replacing a rear shock myself, does anyone know how long would it take to untangle all the tubes and wires to get in, remove and replace with a new(er) shock? Are we talking a couple of hours here or should I book a week or two off work...?

With regards to replacing a rear shock myself, does anyone know how long would it take to untangle all the tubes and wires to get in, remove and replace with a new(er) shock? Are we talking a couple of hours here or should I book a week or two off work...? It took me about 30 mins to swop the rear shock on my '97 NTV. Didn't need to move any wiring or pipework - just undo the top & bottom bolts together with the bolt securing the remote preload adjuster. (no remote adjuster on Revere's or early NTV's) I bought my shock from Ebay for £25 and it has been fine for the last 10K miles, but beware, the one from the Deauville doesn't fit! I found out the hard way. I believe that the genuine unit is still availible from Honda (very costly) or Hagon (in the UK) do a more reasonable priced version. Hope this helps (IM or PM me if you want any more info.) Paul
