Hi all, just thinking about an oil change and can't make up my mind whether to use a genuine honda filter, or an aftermarket one. LM Spares supply a free filter with their oil, so if they are ok, then I will use it www.lm-spares.co.uk/acatalog/Silkolene_Oils.html/Scooter

Hi Scooter, I've used oil filters from LM spares and Wemoto in the past and have had no problems.... LM sell 'Hi Flo' filters (HF303) which are supposed to exceed manufacturers original spec. www.lm-spares.co.uk/acatalog/NVT650_P_R_S_T_Revere_93-97_.htmlDavid Silvers usually supply genuine Honda parts however, if that's what you prefer....

Hi there Scooter,
I always use an aftermarket as it's much cheaper and was told by an ex-mechanic friend that there's really no difference in them.
Besides, these are NTV's we're talking about here! You could probably use a small t-shirt in there as a filter and it'll be grand...
...probably be best not to though!

Same for us in the german board. We also use aftermarket parts. By the way Honda does not produce oil filters itself for example. One of the oldes aftermarket shops in Europe is Detlev Louis Germany www.louis.de. They offer the NTV oil filter for 7-8€ - depends on the brand.

Hi all, thanks for your replies. I guess I'll use an aftermarket filter; much cheaper too!

Thanks Finntv… It’s useful to know that the same filter is used by so many cars. It could mean that rather than buying by mail or at bike stores which are few and far between, we could call at the nearest car supply shop (e.g. Halfords or Motorworld etc). They might even be cheaper to buy…..
