Just joined, live near Leicester, UK, 97ish NTV 650, fitted with monster fairing. Nice when it rains, too hot in summer. Don't have the original frame that supports the headlamp brackets (bike came with fairing fitted), have been offered one off an NTV 600. Anyone know if it will fit?

Hi, jim. Welcome to club Can't say i know the answer to that one, mate. Haynes manual is for the range of NTV from 600 to 650, there seems little difference between them, if reports on web are to be believed. Can't really see them re-designing headlamp brackets in-between upgrading CC's from 600 to 650, so frame SHOULD be the same, but could be wrong. Anyone else may know better? (BTW what was the cost of frame? If its the bit I am thinking of, I have seen a few on E-bay, if that helps?) best of luck finding what you need. Ride safe Jim

Hi Jim,
I guess you've done what I did, my NTV came with an ugly barn door type Rickman fairing, the screen was past its best and the mirrors wobbled in the breeze. When I got the bike home, my son couldn't stop laughing when he saw the bike with fairing. He went round singing Heartbeat!! as a result the Rickman UGLI fairing was removed straight away put in the shed and eventually sold on EBAY (no reserve therefore very cheap!!)
Sometimes I regret this, when the weather is cold &/or wet, when I decide to use the old NTV to do this year's RoundBritainRally. I bought the bike from a dealer in Gloucester, I remember the ride up the M5 with a little try out seeing 3 figures on the clock, me sat unflustered behind that huge fairing, but with mirrors vibrating and not much use...
Now my auNTy V has a small Puig fly screen fitted and some KTM handguards up to normal motorway cruising speeds is OK, but 3 figures is hard work with the windblast. I used "universal" accessory type headlight brackets similar to ones in the M&P catalogue with 41mm rubber inserts, these clamp around the fork stanchion, think I had to use longer bolts into the headlamp unit
have fun, stay safe John

Hi, thanks for replies - been away all week (great timing!). Yes, I bought it complete with mega fairing, Powerbronze I think, complete with wobbly mirrors. Having said that, I was amazed the first time I went out in the rain and discovered my combats only got wet when I stopped at a red light. And it's warm! Just fancy something with a bit more fresh air for the summer, and a bit less weight over the front wheel for flicking it round the lanes. Even when it comes off, it'll be back on for next winter!
