Hi ya all!!! Bought an NTV650 1994 model for my wife as she and i enjoy biking and there was no way i was gonna lift her, now that she has gotten used to the bike it seems to cut out at 170 kays/hour around 7000 rpm, i take it that the bike is govened/restricted, i have searched the net but so far cannot find anything on how to de-restrict the bike, the bike only has 14200km's on the clock. can anyone assist me on getting her to run without cutting out??

With a top speed of 170Km/h (106M/h I would suggest that it isn't restricted - those kits limit the power output to 33bhp from the normal 57bhp & as a standard NTV 650 is quoted as a maximum speed of 117M/h It's not too far away. With the kit fitted I would guess around 90M/h
I would suggest checking out all the usual service items, especially the carbs ( make sure the chokes are closing properly as well) the standard jetting & specs are in the online manual which Jake has given you the link for. (The restrictor kits also usually have a restrictor ring fitted between the carb & cylinder head.) & also check tappets, air filter etc. With such a low mileage, could the exhaust be blocked due to lots of round town driving.
I suppose it could be a foult in the ignition unit - you would have to check with a timing light. also faulty or wrong grade plugs.
Just a few ideas - let us know how you get on
Paul.
