Hi, Jake,
can you please post some photos of the footrests as they sound very interesting.... john
Sorry, can’t post any photos, John….because I don’t
have a digital camera or scanner at the moment.
But check out the links below on the Sportouring
Accessories website.
As you can see from the illustration, there are three
components (i) peg bracket, (ii)peg extension plate
or link, and (iii) the peg itself.
Scroll down in the link below:
www.sportouring.com/gallery.php?sectionHeaderActive=1000&rangeChoosen=426The pegs are bare aluminum, so I wrapped some tape
around mine to make them wider, and stretched some
handlebar grips over them and cable-tied them in place.
(It sounds messy but I did a good job and I wish could show
you some photos). You can buy the so-called ‘Touring’ pegs
but they are more expensive.
You can order everything you need from Sportouring
Accessories but they are more expensive than M&P or Busters.
www.sportouring.com/part.php?itemGroup=426&bikeModel=NTV%20650%20RC%2033The extension plate or link is what allows the pegs to be
lowered. As I say, I used a maximum 50mm extension
plate which works just fine. But I reckon most people would
be happy with a 30mm drop....
Lowering the gear change pedal is easy, you just move it
around the splines and
all the gears are still available.
You can't refit the peg springs but I find that with this set-up,
you don't need them. Lowering the rear brake pedal is
something I haven't tackled yet, I'm not sure it can be done.
But with your mechanical and building skills, you may be able to
do it.....(let me know).
Hope this helps…..
