Hi folks
Well, having arrived at Calais with 4 other guys who started by saying about throwing the bike in the nearest ditch, my not very well looked after NTV600 managed 4 countries in 4 days covering nearly 1200 miles.
I changed the oil and plugs, but that was about it before we set off. We went over from Folkstone on the Friday night after work and stopped at Arras in France. On the Saturday we covered the rest of our journey into Germany, calling at Nurbergring en-route. No, not for me but Nick on a Gixxer 750.
On the Sunday and Monday we rode around the Rhine valley in temperatures in the 80s. Bless my old girl, she was nearly in the red on the temperature nearly all the time. I checked the oil and water a couple of times as I was now hoping to completed the trip.
We had agreed that when I broke down or blew up, we would ditch the bike and I would get a lift with Nigel on his Transalap. For those that know what the Rhine area is like, there are some fantastic, but steep twisty roads. Not the sort of ones suitable for the Revere.
I was ringing the neck out of the bike trying to hang onto Nick on his Gixxer, which ofcourse the bike was not designed for. Honestly, you want to see the wear marks on the side walls of the tyres!!!
Then to top it all, Monday it rained all day on our way back from Germany, through Holland briefly and stopping at Gent in Belgium. The bike that did have an issue was Sean on his 883 Harley. All his warning lights lit up like a the Enterprise.
Finished the remaining 100 miles doing steady 80/90 mph, got home and had to was the bike down because I couldn't believe I had no issues and found myself pating the tank, talking to the darn thing. Oil still on max, everything still working.
Just before we went, I was so close to hiring a 650 water cooled Bandit, so for my £300 investment last year on a winter hack to keep my insurance ticking over, the bike has paid for itself twice over.
Fantastic little thing. Thanks for reading.
