Yep,CV carbs. that's what they are and since one of my throttle slide diaphragms punctured I've been on a voyage of discovery. I had new diaphragms fitted by the NRP carb people and I'm motoring again. But with my curiosity aroused I was trawling the blogs and came across many things. It is claimed on a US blog that if a freer flowing air filter is fitted it can upset the operation of the throttle slides. The claim is that the NTV intake filter and airbox must provide a certain amount of restriction or the carb diaphragm won't lift properly - can this be true? This left me wondering about the airbox restriction ( too much, or not enough?) and the importance of the air filter sealing strip that sits in the airbox location groove. Someone else claimed that the standard rubber intake elbow (behind the steering head) was restrictive. I also found that I had 145 main jets fitted front and rear. How come ? (unless Mr previous had jetted it up) My bike (650K) is I think of German source so maybe it was to Autobahn proof it? I would be interested to hear if anyone has wisdom to share or similar experiences ??
