Can anyone tell me the positioning of this pedal as the one on my machine seems to be a hazard. For example, when braking i have to point my foot/toes in to the left to ensure safe braking.
If you have to brake hard by surprise i suspect it would be very easy for your foot to miss the pedal as it seems to sit quite close to the engine. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi AoDoom - Go to Garage work - body shop - lowering footrests and towards the end there are details about adjusting the brake pedal height, some of which applies to standard footrests. The standard pedal can be lowered by adjusting or modifying the master cylinder pushrod length. The Deauville pedal is in my opinion, an improvement because it gives a greater pressure on the master cylinder, and simply has a better footpad shape. growell.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=body&action=display&thread=1596

If the bike has been dropped on its right side then sometimes the rear brake pedal will be bent inwards (i.e. towards the engine). This has happened to me and I had to bend the pedal back by using a box or plug-spanner so that the pedal sat underneath my foot without my having to twist it inwards.... But as Rick says (see above) it's difficult to alter the heightof the brake pedal unless you adjust it as he describes....
