Hello This is my first posting so I hope someone can help. My '89 Revere has been stood for a couple of years (yes I'm understating!) and I'm now trying to get it started. I fitted a new battery, new plugs and filled with fresh petrol. No Luck. I removed and cleaned the carbs still no go. I then fitted new jets. It starts now but won't run. I have now stripped the carbs right down and given them a good cleaning. In the float chambers there are two short tubes, one appears to have been capped off and the other has a hole in it. I cannot blow down either of them. Does anyone know what they are and whether I should be able to blow through them or not thanks in anticipation Don Attachments:

OK I'll reply to myself in the hope it will help someone else! The tube with the hole in is not mentioned at all in the workshop manual so I presume it is part of the body structure, the one that is blanked off is an extension tube to protect the needle. Don

Yes I think so. Really good clean out with carb cleaner (vinegar then baking soda). Blow through everything then careful re-assembly. Attachment to the bike needed particular care to make sure there were no air leaks on the connectors. It runs well now but I haven't yet had it on the road. Don
