Just thought I ‘d mention a few sites for anyone
who needs a new battery shortly (like me).....
I normally buy a battery from Wemoto because of
quick delivery times (usually the next day) and have
always used Yuasa batteries because they seem to
hold their charge longer and are pretty reliable.

County Battery Services however, also sell the Yuasa
and a selection of other batteries for the NTV.

As an alternative to the Yuasa however, Motorcycle
Products Ltd also sell the ‘Motobatt’ AGM batteries at
a cheaper price than Wemoto at £44.23.

Motobatt AGM batteries are supposed to have up to
20% more cranking power than normal sealed batteries
and according to the advertising blurb are ‘factory
ready’ straight out of the box. (There’s no messing
about filling them with acid beforehand.) They also have
four posts i.e. 2+ and 2- which can be useful if you have
heated clothing like a heated waistcoat or gloves etc.
Another advantage over normal sealed batteries types
is that they can be left for longer periods without charging.....
Apparently, ‘AGM’ stands for ‘Absorbed Glass Mat’ which
means that:
‘Each plate in the battery is wrapped in a glass wool matting which keeps the plates separated in a cushioned environment. This stops the plates vibrating and causing faults between the plates which result in terminal failure.’

The only drawback is that your battery charger has to
be suitable for charging an AGM Battery, which most
modern chargers are.……
