Just fitted a Hi-Flo air filter from Wemoto... I’ve often wondered about these filters. Are they any better than the so-called ‘normal’ filter? They certainly look identical to the standard Honda one, but I’ve never bought one in the past, because they were slightly more expensive. But Wemoto have lowered the price to £19.68 so I got one just to make the comparison. images.wemoto.com/bros/bros-hiflo.htmlI tried it out on the M6 last Saturday, and noticed an increase in torque and also a slight increase in induction noise. The engine felt slightly more ‘vibey’ and pulled better in 5th gear. In fact 5th felt more like 4th. I was able to reduce the vibes by lowering the tick over once the engine was hot, and the engine immediately felt smoother. I’d definitely recommend this filter over the standard one. If the Bike likes it, then I do.......

hi jake now you have rode with the new filter in take the plugs out just 1 per cylender and check there running colour sometimes running a free flowing air filter can make it run a weak mixture that will burn valves or melt holes in pistons think of it like a blacksmiths bellows to get the forge to go hotter he pumps on the bellows this adds more air and it gets hotter if you see what i mean you may need to change the jets now to allow more fuel but check those plugs asap changing the jets as well should improve performance again

I've already checked the plugs and they're OK.... Actually, after buying the hi-flo filter I remembered that I'd already bought a K&N filter years ago. It's also a hi-flo design which never needs replacing. You just clean it and re-oil it.... www.wemoto.com/bikes/Honda/NTV_650_V_Revere/97/picture/Air_Filter_K&N_-_Performance_and_Washable/I could have saved myself the money and just fitted the K&N filter but I forgot I had it. I'm getting old and forgetful.....
