Hi all. I am in the market for buying my first bike and found the NTV Revere 650 interesting.
I have found a 1991 model for sale in my area (eastern Norway) that has done about 80 000 Km (50 000 miles).
Is this a lot for this bike? What should i look for and ask about when I go see it?
Anny common problems with this bike I should know and check for when seeing it?
Cheers, Magnus

Any common problems with this bike I should know and check for when seeing it? Hi Reqiuem, ;D 50,000 miles is not considered high for these bikes, if they've been well looked after (eg regular oil changes and general maintenance). Weak spots can be the gearbox and electrics. Sometimes second-gear can fail so take the bike for a test ride before buying.....Listen for cam-chain rattle. Regulator/rectifier can also fail leading to charging problems. Also check front suspension for leaking fork seals. And check the radiator and water pump. Many of us use fully synthetic oil (5w40 or 10w40) which seems to improve the gearbox action. For a bike this age in good condition I'd offer around £400 or so, depending on service record and previous owners etc.....But prices in Norway may be more expensive. Hope this helps.... wbieniec.kis.p.lodz.pl/moto/ntv/manual/1.pdfgrowell.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=library&action=display&thread=922

Thanks Hope it's well looked after, but you never know when buying 2nd hand... Really looking forward to getting my first bike, and hope this is the one. I wish that price went here in norway. The offering price is around £1400 and I consider that quite cheap over here !

Okay, got my Revere finally. Any way i can check / confirm what model I have got? Seller believed it was a 1991 Revere 650.
Then it would be a Revere M (rc33) right?
Also, are there a lot of differences between the different year models? What are the differences?
Cheers, Magnus

Also, are there a lot of differences between the different year models? What are the differences? In Britain we don't have the Revere 650 because in this country the Revere had a 600cc engine only. The Bike with the 650cc engine was called the 'NTV' 650. But elsewhere on the continent they had 650 Revere. (I don't believe there are any difference based on year.) Apart from engine size, the main differences between the Revere and NTV in this country are the handlebars and the clocks. The NTV had conventional tubular handlebars and the the clocks were the same size. The Revere 600 had different size clocks and the fuse holder was between the bars. I believe the wiring loom was also slightly different..... The handbook below shows the NTV 650. See page 6 for the handlebar and clock layout. www.honda.de/fahrerhandbuecher/NTV650_37MZ6620.pdfNTV 650 parts list: www.cmsnl.com/honda-ntv650-revere-1995-englandmkh_model3772/partslist/Revere 600 parts list: www.cmsnl.com/honda-ntv600-revere-1991-england_model3734/partslist/

Okay, thanks.
My Norwegian Revere 650 also has the split handlebars with fuse box in the middle.
Engine wise it should be exactly the same as the ntv 650 then, I guess.
