has anyone ever worked out how much it costs per mile to run there ntv just wandering because i was thinking of doing a bit of courier work while ive got no other work

i know how to work out fuel but i was interested to see if anyone had worked out the cost for everything else tyres,insurance,tax etc i know everyones will be differant but i just wanted a ball park park figure to work with

It does depend a bit on your annual mileage, but mine has cost around 25p/mile over the past year/5000 miles. That includes fuel, tax, insurance, MoT, service parts (but not labour as I do the work myself), tyres, a few accessories and a bit for depreciation.
I once remember being told you should double the fuel cost for an estimate of true motoring costs, but my fuel is a bit less than half the per mile cost. However, if I did more miles it would probably be more 50/50 - it's all a bit of an approximate science!
