I'm sure the main reason all of us own bikes is because we love to ride , Sure the price of Petrol/Gas has something to do with it but I'm willing to bet that all the members here have a bike to feel the wind on their face and to watch the Miles/kilometers roll away beneath their wheels and that total sense of freedom. well for me thats the case anyway. What better way to achieve this than to plan a trip that takes you beyond your day to day use of our humble steed. Below is a link that I have found to be very inspirational and if you haven't read it, would encourage you to do so. It's a very comprehensive story about a couples journey across north and south america, enjoy.... www.rocinantestravels.com/pan-am/index.htm

There is nothing better than filling the tank full of petrol and choosing which road to down, and follow it to to see where you get to FREEDOM ON WHEELS you just can't beat it ;D

Couldn't agree more JJ.... ;D By the way, we're still open to suggestions on dates for the Spring Rideout this year. Depends on peoples work schedule and availability etc. But for the moment 'Spring' means anytime between March and mid-May.... But let's avoid Bank Holidays for obvious reasons.

Have just been lucky enough to go on a trip I've always dreamt of - Norfolk to Orkney Orkney to Islay Islay to Wigtown Wigtown to Oldmeldrum (Aberdeenshire) Oldmeldrum to Crieff Crieff to Norfolk. Did it all on a Royal Enfield, mind, instead of the NTV, but amazing nonetheless. Destinations chosen because they are the most northerly, westerly, southerly and easterly whisky distilleries in Scotland. Of course, we enjoyed responsibly... Was blogged by a co-rider at journeysblend.blogspot.comI can recommend the route. Want to do it again slower (2500 miles in 7 days was a bit much) and on the NTV.

Great trip Fenlander….great pics, and I would love to see the TV programme when its out on single malt TV. So let us know when it’s being shown….. However, noted the comment on the blog that: …poor Ken Hamilton on the Enfield is having to put up with serious discomfort and lack of speed. The (2009) Enfield looks lovely, though….journeysblend.blogspot.comSo I can understand why you’ll be taking the NTV next time.

Having ridden an Enfield for a month in the Himalayas I can understand why it might be better on a NTV - enfields are not the fastest or most reliable I have tagged if I have done it correctly the pictures from my trip - (only a few mind you). As you can see there was some work happening to the bike on the way ;D photobucket.com/motorcraze-India
