I'm on the scrounge a bit here, has anyone fitted succesfully the Givi rack to a 95 NTV650? Does anyone have any clues whether it mounts easily? Can anyone confirm the part numbers for the side rails? If I order new, then it will be special order, which is a total pain if it all doesn't fit. Does anyone have any nice clear pix of a modern give rack on their bike. All of the givi pix show generic photos on generic bikes! Thanks in advance Reynard

Thank you for that chaps. Unfortunately the pix that you link to show what I think is the 'wingrack', my only interest is the small rack for the top box only. The givi website shows a pair of rails which mount somewhere around the plastic sides, but no extension stays to the footpeg holders. It also seems that the 'handrails' on my bike [below the side of the seat] have been removed. This means that I cannot attach to them! Thank again!

The handrails are welded on the subframe, as far as I know....so if they are removed, mounting a topbox is going to be a problem. At work there is another NTV that had a topbox fitted, it used the same mounting points near the taillight (extra bracket) and a mounting point on the grabrail. Nothing else though.

That's what I'm afraid of. Yep, the grab rails are part of the sub frame, but someone has chopped them off!

I think you must mean the Givi Monorack. I had one on my NTV when I bought it and spent some time headscratching as to how I was going to attach some existing pannier frames. Any how, the grabrails as you refer to them are definitely used to attach the front mountings using a separate clip. The rear mountings have a welded bracket which bolts straight on to the rear frame below and to either side of the rear light using the existing hole. As the front mounting clip is separate and not welded to the front of the monorack, it ought to be possible to make up a clip which fits over the frame rail under the seat, and is long enough to reach to the front of the monorack. This means trimming the plastic undertray to get a straight line between the monorack and the frame tube. You might not want to do this to your NTV! Also, coughing up whatever Givi want these days for a Monorack and then having to make your own brackets rather goes against the budget philosophy of running an NTV. If you could get a rack cheap off ebay or similar that might be different... Hepco and becker used to list a topbox rack for the NTV/Revere but I suspect they used the same mounting points. Renntec do a rack which seems to use the frame beneath the grab handle as a front mounting point although by past experience a packet of sandwiches using thick sliced bread might be a mighty load for it. It depends how big your top box is. You could brace one of these racks using the rear frame mounting points either side and below the tail light, so it would take the load. Who ever removed those rails from your frame did you no favours, but with a bit of ingenuity I am sure you will manage to fit a rack. I find that a top box is sooo useful, if unglamourous, that surely someone on this site will be able to help you out from their own experience.

When I referred to the Renntec rack, the grab handle under which the front of it fits is the passenger grab handle at the back of the dualseat, not the (missing) ones beneath the seat! That should be clearer now.

yup... rennnntec racks apparantly can only support their own weight plus a pair of muddy football boots.. they rank alongside NTV's scotoiler and re-usable condoms... totally "expletive deletive" USELESS!

Again, thanks for your help. Last week I bought a cheap second hand 'Krauser' rack with pretty much no fitting kit. I kind of fitted it using 4 very long bolts as a test, then bought some mild steel to make up the stays to fit to the footpeg hangers. I can carry on with that idea, but to get the job done 'proper' [i.e. securely] is going to cost about the same as a new Givi Monorack, but still look hideous. Hmmm. I do like the practicality of a box, I have a givi monokey on my other bike and use it all the time.

Hi ...
I am looking for a Givi monorack (or similar) for my 91 Revere, according to all the websites I´ve been looking at they are only available for the NTV from 93...
What is the difference, is it possible to easely modify one ment for the 93-model??
