Greetings all.
Here I come with another question, which may have been answered in some previous post, so don't hold it against me to much pls.
I finally got to service my fork seals today and by the hand of professional. He discovered that some previous owner/half witted mechanic/or who ever did some nasty repair job on head light mounting. I guess bike fell or had an accident and mounting got busted. So the half wit decided to weld it. And so he did, while it was firmly bolted to the bike it self. Now I have welding all over my left fork stanchion. And it cant be pulled out for servicing.
My question would be if I can safely file off and clean the weld from the stanchion? Or do I need to replace it with a new one? Because I kind of don't want to ride around on some iffy fork if I can avoid that.
If I have to replace it, can a stanchion of some other Honda model be fitted on my bike? If yes, which one? Cause it can be a pregnant dog to find one in Bosnia, new or used. I know I can order from Wemoto.
Thx in advance for any advice you may give.
Take care, Mux

hehe pregnant dog... is this a bosnian saying? whats the meaning of it? i'm thinking the weld is between the two yolks (triples in USA english) ?? as long as the weld hasn't distorted the tube then it should be ok.. if it is then it is possible to remove it with only the bottom yolk attatched, this will allow you to grind off the weld as flat as possible, it should run through the yolk if it's flat (flush).. the forks are 41mm, many hondas use 41mm forks but am not sure if stanchions are the same, i imagine they are but which ones i don't know .. shame that half-wit didn't have some gaffer tape cuz that will fix anything...

Hehe, I thought the same thing when I first read the "pregnant dog" phrase. But that's profanity filter I think. On the topic of stanchions, I think that CBR 600s from the same year use the same type of stanchion. I'll look in to it more. Thx for the reply
