I've just remembered something that might be of help. Like most, I use a Haynes manual as they are generally very good. When I was replacing the fork oil I checked the spring length just to see if all was OK. The length was way out. I noticed that the specs given for the 650P model (93-95) were different for the later models, and my springs agreed with the length given for the later models. My bike had not been 'messed' with so I queried this with Haynes. They wrote back and admitted that their specs were wrong (though they claimed that Honda told them wrong)- they should be the same as the later models. Worth bearing in mind if you're working on the forks of a 'P' model. Bill
