I have the Hynes manual on the NTV at home and its great but I just don’t understand the adjusting the chain sections. I don’t have the tool kit that comes with the Bros but need to adjust it any instructions
Thanks.

Ian, sorry can't help you with your problem. The NTV unlike the Hawk or Bros is shaft drive. so we don't have chains to worry about.. You could try this website, as it has a lot of information about the Hawk/Bros www.hawkgt.com/Hope this helps.

Try Amazon for Clymer manual for the Hawk or Bros. Alternatively try a grey importer or a manualfor a VFR750 which I think has a similar method of chain adjusting.

If it's the same as my ProArm VFR, it has an eccentric cam built in to the hub. Where the hub meets the sprocket it has a toothed ring, and you use a chain adjustment tool to turn it backwards or forwards to adjust chain tension (after undoing a 17mm pinch bolt).
It's actually quite quick and easy to do, provided (a) you've got the proper adjustment tool (a big C-spanner) and the hub isn't seized. That can happen if the hub adjuster hasn't been moved for a long time, though thankfully I never had that problem.

Hi, The link below explains how to adjust the chain on the Honda Hawk/Bros. This link doesn’t always work the first time you click on it, maybe because the author is updating the contents… But keep trying, it’s quite a detailed explanation of maintenance procedures and is a useful resource for NTV owner’s as well….. www.hawkworks.net/manual/3.html#3-12-drive-chain
