Hi there, I'm new here and I'm after some advice . Got a problem with the old girl!! Shes not running correctly when just sat on idle it revs up to 2.5 thou then back down below 1 thou the it'll stall, the other thing is when I shut the throttle off whilst riding it seems to jerk along like its struggling to pull fuel through or its being flooded??? Anyone else had anything like this?

Hello mate and welcome, i'm no expert but that sounds like a air leak to me,possibly cracked rubber somwhere, had it myself on other bikes, inlet rubbers cracked letting in air upsetting the mixture can cause uneven running and hunting on throttle shut off,may be wrong but from the symptoms you describe sounds like it to me
Good luck Hovis

Hi and welcome. You can check for an air leak by spraying WD40 round the inlet rubbers. Check out this link for full details. roadstarclinic.com/content/view/55/96/Another cause could be the choke cable snagging if it is not properly routed. Once you have cleared the fault, it would be worth while checking the carb balance. hope you fix it quickly. Nick

Where the choke cable runs seems to be a problem, tried to re route mine. But with the length you don't have much movement. So wrapped a strip from plastic milk bottle round it and covered it in amalgamating tape even tough it still chaffs it doesn't chafe the cable.
