I am thinking about raising the handle bars on my NTV. The Goodridge brake hose is long enough but the throttle cables are too short. Do you think that the Deauville cables will fit? Can you suggest any other alternatives...
The clutch cable also looks a bit short but I reckon it might be OK if I re-route it.

The cables from the deauville will fit but if you re-route the existing ones they will be fine. The throttle cables will need to be removed at the carb end pulled out then put them back but not around the front of the steering head, instead put them in behind the steering head making sure they are free to move and the throttle operates freely at all steer angles. The clutch cable should be similiar mod. I have had this done for so long I cant remember what the normal routes are. There are plenty of risers available but I had to make a pair a bit taller as 25mm wasnt enough. Dermot

Thanks Dermot....
Wasn't too confident about tackling this job myself so I had the guys at the local bike shop do it and at my request they fitted the Deauville cables.
You can't route them in the same way as the Deauville cables because there is much more room between the handlebars and the clocks on the Deauville. On the NTV the throttle cables can be conveniently routed through one of the holes in the headlight bracket then around the the steering head as normal.
Clutch cable takes a longer run directly behind the headlight, but everything works OK and the steering is not hampered. The guys who did this job will be doing the MOT later in the year so I've no worries that the bike will fail because of the longer cables. I must admit however, your method sounds better (and cheaper) although I have to say that the throttle action now feels much lighter than it did before.
For anyone else who is interested in this mod I got the 30mm risers (complete with longer bolts) from M and P and they are made by SW-Motech price around £30. They're not exactly precision engineering, because I had to file them slightly to fit. But for me, the ride position now feels more comfortable.

There's a company called Dirthut based in Worcester selling handlebar raisers ranging from 15-30mm. Has anyone any experience of fitting these? Could these be fitted without any other alteration? How did this affect the standard cable routes? Did you need to re-route the existing cables or fit Deauville cables?
