My bike appears to be weeping oil from the seal where teh gear-shift arm disappears into the engine, does anyone know if this seal can be replaced without taking the engine apart and how difficult it is to do?
Thanks,
Daryl.

Its in the left hand crank case oil seal 12.5X25X8 item num 16. Regular oil seal. Check the crank case ventilation is not blocked and that aftermarket air filters are not being used. If aftermarket air filters are being used the ventilation may not be going to the air box or if the air filter is removed the crankcase will not be under the normal depression which can cause premature failure of engine oil seals. That's the seal that appears to be leaking. I don't have any aftermarket filters and the crankcase ventilation seems ok.
Is there a technique to removing / replacing the seal? Hopefully i don't have to split the cases.
The other option is that oil leaking from somewhere else is collecting there. I'll clean the oil off and try and see where it's coming from.
