Hi As you have stripped the rear brake down and it is still sticking, is your brake pedal sticking ?, put the bike on the main stand and start it up put it in 1st gear let the clutch out slowley when the rear wheel is turning push the brake pedal down till it nealey stops the rear wheel then take your hand/foot off and see if it is still sticking A bit of grease on the rear brake shaff my help, hope this helps outlaw

Just a thought .... is the fluid return hole in the master cylinder clear? A slight blockage there would make the brake slow to come off as you describe it.
Like I say, just a thought ....

Hi just a wee update i have changed the seals today and new pads but it still seems to stick but might just be the new pads ? so going a wee run (if the rain stays at bay ) to try and ease them in . what i did notice was the pedal when pressed theres no movement in the brake till just over half way down then it hardens up slightly to press right down before it comes on quite hard . could it be the master cylinder ? (hope note looks like a bigish job ) thanks again guys yous have been a great help

.... could it be the master cylinder ? (hope note looks like a bigish job ) thanks again guys yous have been a great help It could be the new brake pads. Give them time to bed in..... But as Kirriepete pointed out in his reply above: ‘is the fluid return hole in the master cylinder clear?’ Actually in my last reply, one of the links I attached made the same point: ‘Be sure that some debris hasn't gotten down into the small bleed port in the floor of the m/c reservior. It is tiny and easily blocked. Sounds like something could be floating in and out of the passageway. From what you describe, it sounds like a hydraulic pressure buildup, which usually leads back to the m/c bleed port.’ (See link below.
