Just in the process of rebuilding my son's 650 and came across a snag which had me baffled for a while. I couldn't get the lights to work and despite establishing a connection between the green earth wire from the headlight bulb and the -ve of the battery, nothing was happenning. My replacement headlight shell is plastic and is the issue. The green earth wire from the headlight bulb relies on the connection to the headlight shell through the body of the sidelight bulb holder. That can't happen with a plastic shell. Earthing it direct to -ve on the battery with a new lead worked a treat. Hope somebody else can benefit from my trials and tribulations. (The cheap and cheerful M&P plastic headlight is good value and has a good beam.)
