Dear All, Please can you advise me if the internals in the left and right fork leg should be the same on my 1988 Revere J? On draining the fork oil today, leaving the forks in the head yokes and leaving the springs in place I found the spacer on the left fork leg to have a very much thicker wall thickness and be very much easier than the right to get the top bolt back in. The right top bolt was a real struggle to put back and the thin walled spacer had an R stamped on it. I'm guessing one of the fork legs has been replaced, probably from a later model. I will investigate further, but can anyone give me some leads? Cheers Marty

Dear All, Please can you advise me if the internals in the left and right fork leg should be the same on my 1988 Revere J? Parts should be identical in both forks.... I can’t find the fiche for the 600 Revere but I believe the parts for the NTV 650 are the same: www.cmsnl.com/honda-ntv650-revere-1995-englandmkh_model3772/partslist/F__0800.html#resultsYou could order the correct spacer from Fowlers or Lings, I think it's numbered 3 on the fiche and the part number is 51402ML7921... Or do what I did, and remove the spacers from both forks and replace with Hagon progressive fork springs which are longer and don't require spacers... www.hagon-shocks.co.uk/

Thanks Jake, Sorry for not replying earlier and thanks for the links. I subsequently took the fork legs off and found the springs and spacers to be the same length. The spacers were marked L and R and otherwise differed only in wall thickness. On reassembly the right fork leg cap was definitely a bit more of a struggle to replace than the left, which is odd! The forks are leak free and appear to move sweetly, so for now they will stay as they are. Cheers Marty
