i came home yesterday after a 150 mile run on the motorway and there was quite allot of oil coming from somewhere i couldent tell where from does any one now a likely place before i start replacing gaskets that i dont need to i was thinking head gasket because the oil was every where but there doesent seem to be any other symptoms of head gasket failure i hope someone can help just going to get the jet wash out cheers

I've had leaks from cyclinder base gasket and head gasket on the front cylinder. Fortunately neither one turned out to be serious and seemed to seal themselves. But head gasket leaks can be serious, so clean off the oil with some paraffin or Muc Off or Jizer/Gunk etc., and run the bike to locate the leak. I have heard from a mechanic that sometimes replacing the (perished) rubber washers on the rocker-cover bolts can cure an apparent leak from that area .....But again I was lucky, because I didn't have to try this.

dident get time to give it a clean today but ive been out on it just up town and there dident seem to be any coming out then so it seems to happen at prolonged high revs on the motorway i was doing 80-100 for at least 70 miles thanks for the advice hope it not going to big of a job
