Hi Has Anyone found a reasonable costed front brake light switch? (under the handlebar, behind the brake lever) Pt No 35340-MM5-600 David silver is £16.89 + 1.95 P&P Louis.De is euro 7.99 + 9.95 P&P Wemoto.com is £20.27 + P&P Must be a better (cheaper) solution !!!!!! Mine packed up the other day. Managed to split it, dismantle and clean the internals. It works for now. Looking for new one on hand to pop on the bike at reasonable cost. Chris Attachments:

Thanks for that Jake.
unfortunately their negative and neutral feed back is too of-putting to tempt me to spend my cash their.
I Have found another solution The original item manufacturer (ALPS) does an improved waterproof switch. It is at reasonable cost, only the distributors P&P is of-putting. still its cheaper than D.S. or Louis.

I got a couple of these from this guy a while back - Banjo bolt brake light switches on fleabay. They're sealed units so no worries about road crap knackering them up, just fit & forget. Works for me, anyway .....

For Chris/cyril - I've just had a rummage in the shed and found the switch I took off when I fitted the banjoes - it's still in working order so just drop me a PM with your address and you can have it.
You're welcome.

Thanks for the input Guys. Thanks for the offer Kerriepete. Think mine will hold out for a while. just get concerned when something has failed once. I Ordered one of the cheepies, to check out and carry as a spare. I will feedback here if it fits and does the job. The expensive P&P is because although the distributor i found has a UK web site They are actually operating from a warehouse in Texas. Also there will be extra hidden costs, import duty, and handling fee from Post office. I was fishing in case someone had used one of these these:- www.alps.com/WebObjects/catalog.woa/E/HTML/Switch/Power/SDDH/SDDH_list.htmland knew if they are available in UK or EU Cheers again Chris

Ebay switch arrived. Casing shape slightly different, but fits OK. Plunger longer than original, (relaxed protrusion 4.4mm compared to 3.75mm) so only operated brake lights under maximum braking effort Filed plunger down (to 2.5mm) lights now come in under light braking effort on my bike.
Double checked original switch, found that it only operated under moderate braking effort. so trimmed that plunger to 3.3mm of protrusion.
Would rather following traffic get the message that i am slowing down earlier rather than later.
