Got stuck at work with the bike tonight, made the wrong choice of route home (realised about halfway back that I had strayed from the bus route in the snow) and dropped my Revere at about 20mph...
Broken clutch lever, left footrest, and damage to the hitherto unmarked left-hand Powerbronze fairing. The Ugly Duckling is now even uglier...
I suspect I will have a sore bum tomorrow, but for now the Asbach Urbrand (there must be some German owners on here) is killing my pain.
Many thanks to the kind taxi driver who (after keeping his distance from me on the ice) stopped and helped right the Old Girl.

Sorry to hear you had a fall It's no fun when you come off. Hope the soreness goes soon and you feel better. At least it's nice when people bother to stop and help. It helps restore your faith in human nature. I was v annoyed when I dropped mine on sheet ice at the start of the winter. It's patched up for now but will need more TLC when the weather improves. Take care, Gills

Sorry to hear about the accident, Niall. I thought the snowy weather was done with this year and I could look forward to getting the bike out for spring. My days of riding in snow and ice are done with. I remember dropping my old Honda CJ360 on black ice and how glad I was, I’d fitted crah bars..... I hope you’re back on the road soon (upright that is).
