5 weeks on the road and something goes wrong......very wrong. Turns out to be a bent conrod.....Shizzle, Still working out the why's and wherefor's but the fact remains I need to see this project through to the end. NTV650 Revere engine 1989/90 Model J. While the bottom end is dismantled I will replace the clutch basket as well 'cause the springs are close to sprung and once I close this sucker up, that's it. I want to either end up with a totally brand new Model J or one magnificent bonfire ode to motorcycle folly. I'm in Australia so I don't have ready access to parts and knowledge here and am prepared to pay for shipping. Are there parts that would fit from the Deauville?, American Hawk? Yamaha 250? I don't know. I'm still a gumby in this rebuild game. I'm in too deep to give up now. Where to from here?

Thanx for the feedback and pointers Jake. After some scrutiny I have decided that the 88/89 Honda Hawk 650GT motor is the same motor (647cc) as my NTV 650 Revere 88/89 Model J. The differences between the two bikes include, Hawk was chain drive, Hawk had a shorter wheel base, the Hawk frame was aluminium not steel. The Deuville conrods are likely to be the same specs but it's cheaper to buy the U.S. parts and shipped to Oz than from the U.K. I'll update any reports on the progress. Meanwhile, I've been making do with my mighty CB250 but I am missing the extra weight, grunt and I'm forever searching for that extra gear Jake I think that maybe the starting problems that I was having, the one with the large clunk that would stop the starting process, is related to the bent conrod somehow. Chicken or egg ? Still hunting that one down.
