Please can someone help. Started bike up after several months and was spitting barely running on one cylinder. Changed plugs , fuel pump and coils in desperation to fix. Initially disconnected carbs checked slider , diaphragm and float bowl all looked fine. Next point of call is stator BUT in case anyone has an idea when you take the abode off the carbs there are on each carb at the top movable air pipes which connect into the air box. If I block the left side (looking down) when I release it accelerates the engine then sputters as it returns back to fast idle on choke on the right side if I block it dies the engine. Is this normal has anyone experience in this field to know what is happening as I really only wish to do the stator as a last resort. Many thanks. Had this bike several years never had issue starting bike after leaving a while

Mine did this when the carbs were out of balance....more the occassional spit from the pipe. When new Motad exhausts caused this too, but again just one misfire every 30 seconds or so.
