Hi all,
I know there are a few threads on this...
Is there any difference between the size and mount points on the 600 and 650 engines? I've seen a set of crash bars for a 650, but the maker reckons they won't fit a 600. He's a bar maker, not an NTV expert.
I've had a look myself, and can't see any external difference. Anyone got any experience of looking at the differences?

Afaik the mount points should be the same. The frame didn't change, not did the engine mounting points. So I don't see a problem....don't pin me down on it though.... What kind of bars are we talking about? (maybe I could measure some things for you?)

cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-NTV650-NTV-650-ENGINE-GUARD-CRASH-BAR_W0QQitemZ150288186935QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116#ht_516wt_0shows the kind of thing I am interested in. The mounts look roughly the same, but I emailed the seller and he said they wouldn't fit. I reckon that is just him covering himself in case they don't. I bought a set of Givi bars for an 1988 Transalp that Givi assured me would not fit. They did, but I needed a slightly longer bolt! No hurry - still can't bend my right leg enough to get it on the footpeg after the incident that reminded me I hadn't bought the bars yet (and it is now refusing to start - forgot to drain the carbs so they could be gummed up). I agree with Buzzin there is no physical difference that I'm aware of between the 600 and 650 for engine / frame configuration. The price (buy it now) looks pretty attractive and has to be well worth a chance. Good luck and report back

Sorry it has taken a while to report back - leg refused to heal quickly. Dr finally referred me to physio 5 months to the day after the incident. Ligament healed, but cartilage torn, so much physio to see if they need to trim it. Not that I mind: I am riding again and the physio is extremely cute...
Anyway, point is I bought the bars in December and fitted them fine - bars marked fits a 650 will also fit a 600.
