Hi all after returning home from work tonight I checked the bike out. I have not felt right on the bike for the last two days and the bike has felt a bit 'odd'. On inspection of the front wheel I discovered a weird vibrating noise when the wheel was spinning. On closer inspection I discovered this noise was coming from the near side brake pad! It is moving freely in the caliper. So a little job for the weekend I suspect. My question is this. Are NTV's prone to this sort of problem? Or is this just a one off maintenance problem?

my guess is the stainless spring clips, under pressure they hold the pad in place and the end one is often neglected in a rebuild, hence vibrations and awful screaming, copperslip is a good greese to have on these but use sparingly, this greese can change bad braking into smooth quiet stopping.

Too much coppergrease in the wrong places can also make a brakepad into a smooth, quiet non-stopping device....the only screaming would be the driver.... I can't image how the brakepads would be loose though....the get trapped (uhm, don't know a better word now) on one side, and the other side has a pin through it....but I guess anything is possible
