Ok, I was thinking: Some people have been complaining the rear mudguard on the revere is too short. I can see why even before I got to drive it. The previous owner solved this slightly by mounting the license plate realy low....but it's in danger of falling off, and off center (I HATE that) so it has to be fixed. I have seen NTVs with longer mudguards and I know some people custom made a longer one. I seem to remember one person fitting one from what I believe was a scooter, but I forgot where I read that My question is, are longer mudguards available anywhere? Does a mudguard from any other type of bike just bolt on? (that is longer of course) I am not the world's most clumsy man....but crude fidling about with custom making it is about as far as I get....

Yup, I thought it was short, adding a piece of black plastic to the bottom (long enough to be held at the top by the numberplate bolts sorted it nicely.
Some other Euro markets require a longer mudguard and Honda have a bolt-on extender for these countries. Dunno if it's available to order in the UK tho... p/no 80121-MS9-610 "mudguard, rr fender" is the item if you want to try and order one. Need a couple of wee bolts to secure it to the bottom of the guard too.

Too short? I know people who cut this thing off! Just kiddin'. But I know there were different versions for the NTV: some mudguards are covered completely by the licence plates (e.g. my bike on the right hand side), others are much longer (left). img81.imageshack.us/img81/2828/ntvklub9.jpgRgds Peter

Yes, that's what I mean, the longer one looks stock too, so maybe they can be ordered from the dealer.....hmmm only one way to find out I suppose (I have the short one, like your bike has) If that fails....I might try the suggestion on the home made extender. ps. No order-to-UK needed as I am a Dutchy

Hello All - The rear mudguard extension is an option available through Honda Dealers but the price for the bit of plastic is .. wait for it .. £65 + VAT !! I enquired of my local Honda dealer about 2 months ago - that was the end of the conversation because that sort of money I was not going to part with for a bit of plastic.
I picked up a rear mudguard extension for a 2001 R6 off ebay for ~ £7 all in which has done the job admirably.
