I have now got hold of a centre stand and as these seem to be a bit difficult to get your hand on I thought I would use the original and make a jig and see if I can produce one. The main tube on the stand is the same as 3/4"bore line pipe which we happen to use at work. The top bar can be drilled 19mm in a lathe from 29mm bar.The rest are only strengthener plates. Hope to have one knocked up in a couple of weeks. Will put a picture on when it's finished

Hi Guys Have just finished the pattern centre stand. Pipes were easy to shape but the 2 webs at top proved a bit harder to make than I thought but got there in the end. Once it's undercoated and top coat applied you won,t know the difference.

Yes I would, your welding is a lot neater than stock. Gas I assume?

Come on Pops, own up! It is an original that you've stripped and sand blasted.
Looks like you made a good job there, well done you.
There are many things I cannot do, welding is one of them, looks like you don't have the same problems I would have.
Plastering, laying bricks and saying "no" to a nice beer are the main other things I cannot do!

There is MIG and TIG welding on it done by one of my work mate. I just made the jig for setting it up and made the bits. Only thought I would knock one up as it has taken me 6months of searching to pick one up for the bike I am doing now.As I still have a engine waiting for another project I thought I would do this in case the next one has no stand.
