I've got some big sheets of alloy and am thinking that over the winter I'll play around making my own fairing (and you can probably guess how pretty that might turn out ) Has anyone got any pictures of a fairing subframe that mounts on the headstock, to give me some ideas on how to get started please? Ta, Bill

Bill - If you want to use the above URL you'll have to copy the whole 2 lines of it and paste them into your browser - just saw that clicking on the blue highlighted bit gets you nowhere!

HI When I saw 'Fairing' at the top of the post I knew it was you! ....Derbyshire, 'I've got a big sheet of alloy, stuck on the front of MY bike'... bill (AKA Barndoor Bill...!! ) But all joking aside, Best of luck with fairing during winter m8, sure you'll make a decent job of it, and maybe we'll get to see it and you on a meet next summer... . Btw, got your work cut out with that french site tweaker sent in, i quote.. 'it is necessary to remove the small jump-of-wind which is assembled out of standard' Jump of WIND..out of Non-Standard!! 'MY ARSE' as they say in the 'royal' family. Can't wait until the A.F.M.R.U. hears about this.... (Amalgamated fairing manufacturers and riders union, of Course.. ) Best of luck Bill..See ya next summer. Jaz

Hi tweaker Sorry M8.. No offence meant........ I know how dodgy some of those translations can be... And when looking for help ANYTHING is better than nothing... Got to be honest, bill and his amazing 'telepathic' powers are starting to convince me to upgrade bikini fairing to a half fairing.. only not sure what to get and how to fit it...Wonder even If it will fit? So best of luck both of you and keep us updated with progress Regards jaz

Thanks for the replies boys. We'll see what happens. Incidentally, Jaz, if you want to see some serious screens get yourself off to southern Italy. I've just had a week there. Apart from being certifiable nutters in the way they ride (unbelievable) most of the scooter riders have gigantic screens that make Aunty Vera's look like a flyscreen. These things are wider than the handlebars and about 6" higher than the riders' heads. They are usually semi-opaque through scratches and muck, and the thousands of riders storm about the towns in the dark as much as in daylight. They probably don't want to see what they're going to hit. These screens are made by Biondi and Isotta mainly, and the amusing thing is a disclaimer printed on them warning you not to park in the sun (in Naples!) as the instruments could melt in the magnified rays through the screen. They aint kidding neither- I saw plenty of bubbled and blackened instrument fascias. I might see if I can get one of these screens and fit it for a laugh. Cheers.
