Hi all Silly problem really.. When i turn off bike (ignition) It seems I always have to turn bike to (steering lock) position. BEFORE I can actually turn key back on! Is this common?, is it a 'Security measure' perhaps? or should I start looking for a new lock and barrel.... Cheers Jaz

I seem to get the opposite - difficulty engaging the steering lock without a few attempts.

GT85 my dear, GT85. Jim, use the key to keep the damp guard to one side, give it a good dose, leave overnight and Robert is your mother's brother. AND WHY CAN'T I LOG IN? Have I done something naughty? Bill

Jim, GT85 is similar to WD40 but contains PTFE. It smells worse but sprays better. As a cyclist I'm surprised you've not heard of it- good summer lubricant for chains etc. I've used some this morning to get the hazard light switch on my daughters Clio (cheap French tat) working. If you are looking in Glenn- I can't login. Can you help please?

Hi Bill GT85................mmhh Will look out for it in Halfords, etc; Might be stating the Obvious, (No offence meant) but is keyboard, ok? Had this happen to me, Keyboard was faulty and was not displaying a particular letter.( ) Have left caps lock on other keyboards, and did not notice it. Also tried using wrong log-in password, repeatedly........ Took a while to spot that one.......... You could try 'Unjoining' group and 'Rejoining' or perhaps just join again using another alias 'derbyshire billy' (You can always unjoin once problem sorted.. ) Enjoy & Ride Safe Jaz

I find wenever I post messages on te site I get letters missing frm what I type and have to corect it. I have deliberately not re-typed this message so you can see what I mean. It does sometimes affect passwods, and have also noticed the problem when typing messages to people on Ebay. No prole with Word documents so it's not a keyboard problem. Thought it might be a virus but I have run a number of scans and problem is stil there (as you can see!).

Or, Guys - another alternative .. Graphite power (which is what I think locksmiths would use for lock lubrication) - can get it at good hardware stores (where those stores still exist). The stuff is magic for any locks! Pop some in the top of the lock key-way, put the key in and cycle the key through its positions several times to distribute.

No problem with my steering lock, but noticed that the damp guard is stuck open on mine, so WD40 time.
