Hi
As far as I understand ther are four catagories of ntv bikes
1. 34Ps type 2. 27ps type 3. 50ps 4. Full power
The question; what are the specifications of the full power version and what is restricting the others?Intake? Mainjet? Exhaust? Anyone?
cheers Danny

Hi Danny. Showing my naivete but didn't know bike came in so many flavours! Guessed restricted, to 33bhp but did not have a clue about other variations. Jonsan seems to know his NTV's! also Bill and Pops are well up on this stuff. Where of what would I be looking for a designation/marking to say which my one is? cheers Jim

In Sweden where I live our registration papers on the vehicle tell us the power ouput. Mine is said to be 37Kw wich is about 50 Ps. When looking in the sparepartslist my Revere 650 (of german import ) comes in 4 editions.
A honda dealer sugessted that I should look in the inlet rubber to see if there was a washer that restricted the fuel. But he wasn't sure...

Danny, No help from me I'm afraid. All I know is that the standard UK spec 600 and 650 engines were both given as putting out 55 bhp, (which less than half what some 600s are putting out nowadays- have a go on a Yam R6 if you get a chance and you'll see). Bill

Having said that, the standard way to reduce the power on all the 4 stroke restricted bikes I've heard of has been by putting, as you say, a washer in the inlet tract to strangle the motor. It's cheap- the manufacturers like doing things on the cheap and are hesitant to put a different camshaft in or smaller carbs. Bill
