Hi, My bike ( growell.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=owners&action=display&thread=1283) is needing new tyres for its MOT in two weeks. My mate has offered me a pair of Pirelli Diablos which he took off his race bike - they are in great nick but I am not sure if they will clear the mudguard and/or swingarm. The bike is a '92 NTV600-M Revere with (I think) the standard 17" alloy wheels. The Pirelli sizes are: (F) 120/70 17, (R) 160/60 17 Has anyone had success or otherwise putting these sized tyres onto this bike? Current thinking is that they should be OK but might speed up the steering a bit. Any and all opinions gratefully appreciated - I am fairly clueless re motorbike tyres! Cheers, Niall

Jake, did your bike have its main (centre) stand fitted at this time? I didn't make it clear in my post but I'm not sure a different size tyre will clear the stand, either... Thanks for all the info! Niall

Niall Yes Niall...the centre stand was already fitted. The tyre looked a very close fit but I wasn't worried because the wheel alignment looked OK because of the shaft drive.....Needless to say if you fit a 160/60 you do so at you're own risk.....

Looking at the clearance between the tyre & swingarm on mine today, I doubt wether there is safe clearance for the 160 section tyre! Handling should be fine as the rest is identical to the deauville. Paul.

Guys, thanks very much for your input. I now have the tyres fitted. The front is a bit over-sized, which sharpens the handling up nicely. The rear is a perfect fit, the clearance of the centrestand is reduced to about 3mm or so. The bike just sailed through its Mot with no issues!
